1: In a small bowl, add yeast, water, and sugar, mix to combine, and set aside for yeast to activate. 2: Meanwhile, in a large bowl, add flour and salt. Whisk to combine. 3: Once yeast is activated, add to the flour and salt mixture and slowly incorporate. 4: Mix together until dough forms, knead until smooth, form a ball, cover with a damp cloth, and let proof for 1 hour. 5: Once proofed, turn out onto a floured surface and cut into 6 equal pieces. 6: Pinch the bottom and roll until the top is taut to create a ball. 7: Place on a lightly floured baking tray, cover with a damp cloth, and let proof for 10 minutes. 8: Bring water to a boil in a medium pot. 9: Pinch a hole in the middle of each dough ball and boil for 1 minute on each side. 10: Put back on the tray, brush with vegan butter, add seasoning, and bake at 425°F for 20 minutes. 11: Serve and enjoy.
